High time for summer adventures
CFS readers out in the world, a possible Portland urban scouting event with Marc Fryt, and more.
Flow Staters:
What can I say: I'm a little bit jealous. I was stuck at home this weekend, up a ladder rebuilding a patio cover in my backyard. Necessary work, but I'd really rather be out there fishing.
Thank you for sending photos and stories from your many adventures this summer. While I'm scraping and sanding in the hot sun, I'm at least able to fantasize about wading a cool river somewhere thanks to you.
CFStronauts in the wild

Shouts out to readers Amy and Jeff, Celeste and Brad, Robert and Wolfie, and Tasha, who are all out there getting after it this summer. Way to go, y'all! I'm jealous. Thanks for sharing.
PDX Scouting with Marc Fryt
Did you read our chat with Marc Fryt, author of "The Guide to Urban Fly Fishing" yet? Wherever on this blue globe you might be there are lessons to help find fish near where you reside.
But for those of us in Portland, we've got a great chance to bring the lessons from the book to life. We're looking Saturday, September 26 to invite Marc to Portland to lead a scouting workshop around our city waterways. But, we need a few of you to show interest first.
It'll be a fun day: We'll bop around to various spots near downtown PDX to talk about where fish might be hanging out, how to access the spots, what times of day and flies might be best to try, etc. I was just riding along the Eastbank Esplanade the other morning and talked with an angler who had landed a carp, so they're out there.
Three of you raised your hand when the email went out last Friday. We need four or five more folks to join to solidify the event.
If you're interested in joining a half-day scouting session with Marc, hit the button below or reply to this email to let me know.
